1. Introduction
1.1 Purpose And Scope of document
This document outlines brief description of Re-enterable Aerial Closure and performance of the product under stimulated environment. Qualification of the Closure as per this specification and test procedures will ensure product function and reliability for 30 or more years, enduring harsh climatic conditions in the outside plant.
2. General Information
2.1 Product Description
The product, Re-enterable Aerial Closure is intended for straight, butt, and branch splices of non-pressurized communication aerial cable joint and maintenance. It is based on proven design and high-quality material, may be exposed to severe environmental conditions. Our aerial closure provides excellent durability and long-term reliability in those severe conditions. The Closure is made of 3 parts: 1. Body 2. Accessories 3. End Seal.
2.2 Design feature
2.2.1 The body is double-wall molded for resisting breaking or cracking, and equipped with hanger/bonding system and quick release latch for easy bonding and repeated locking/opening. The breathing holes in the body make the closure breathing freely.
2.2.2 The accessories provide flexible parts for using in different environment.
2.2.3 The end seals accommodated various sizes of cables and seal the closure tightly, prevent the entry of water from either side of the cable surface.
2.3 Materials and Finishes:
2.3.1 Materials
Body: High-density polyethylene, Mixed with UV additive
End Seal: Thermoplastic Elastomer, Injected
Hanger/Bonding System: Stainless Steel
Shield Bonding: Phosphor bronze, Brass
2.3.2The double-wall molded body, made of high-density polyethylene (mixed with UV additive) exhibits excellent resistance to fungi, heat, breaking or cracking.
2.3.3 Plastic material is non-corrosive to metals and is resistant chemical pollutants.
2.3.4 Stainless steel parts exhibit excellent resistance to chemical pollutants and reliable mechanism for bonding and repeated locking/opening.
2.4 Applications and Range
2.4.1 The closure can fit any non-pressurized communication cables under 800-pair.
2.4.2 Cable range
Diameter(Main cable): 0-25mm, 0-47mm, 0-55mm.
